Dr. Lilian Pusavat, Clinical Director & Lead Consultant Psychiatrist - Adult Low Secure Services Dr Pusavat has a background in Forensic and General Adult Psychiatry. She has worked in high and medium secure hospitals and acute adult settings including Community Mental Health Teams, Assertive Outreach, Rehabilitation, Outpatients and Inpatients. Dr Pusavat holds a diploma in Multidisciplinary Forensic Mental Health and is a member of the Mental Health Review Tribunal Panel. Dr Pusavat is also the Lead Consultant for Alpha Hospitals Prison Inreach Services. |

Dr. Joe Mugisha, Consultant Psychiatrist - Low Secure Service Dr Joe Mugisha joined Alpha Hospital Woking in June 2008 to work within the Low Secure Male Service. Previously Dr Mugisha had worked in the NHS for 24 years as a general adult psychiatrist, which also included managing mild Learning Disabilities and Autistic Spectrum Disorder and he helped set up local services in Godalming, Surrey for people with Aspergers Syndrome. Dr Mugisha has also attended courses for expert witnesses and has co-authored a handbook for the Metropolitan Police titled 'Policing Mental Disorders'; he is on the National Advisory Committee for an on-going surveillance project in occupational stress and mental illness. |

Dr. Grainne Coakley, Medical Director & Lead Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist Dr Grainne Coakley is the Medical Director at Alpha Hospital Sheffield. She has been a consultant Forensic Psychiatrist since 2001 having completed her SpR training in South West London. She has predominantly worked in NHS medium secure services initially with both male and female patients and latterly was the Lead for the Women’s Medium Secure Service, Edenfield Centre, at Bolton Salford and Trafford NHS Mental Health Trust. She has experience in Sex Offender Treatment Programmes, Prison Psychiatry and Medical Management having been appointed Lead Consultant at the Edenfield Centre in 2003. She took up her first role in the independent Sector at Alpha Hospital Sheffield in May 2007. The transition from the NHS to the independent sector was a smooth one and she became involved in Service Development from the outset, becoming Medical Director in 2009. |

Dr. Paul Stankard, Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist Dr Paul Stankard joined the team in January 2009 having completed specialist training at Rampton Hospital. He began his medical career with a variety professional placements in general adult psychiatry, child psychiatry, forensic learning disability and assertive outreach. He worked specifically in addiction psychiatry for 5 years, developing and establishing a community-based service. He has since worked in a variety of settings and in all levels of security from low secure in-patient provision and prison psychiatry to maximum security environments. He has much experience of working in gender specific units and has held positions on the women’s enhanced and standard medium secure units at Arnold Lodge RSU. Dr Stankard has specific experience in working in personality disorder services in medium/high security and within a well established prison therapeutic community at HMP Grendon. |

Trish McCaffrey, Clinical Nurse Director Trish joined the team in January 2009 after playing a lead role in the opening and development of a new Medium Secure Service in Nottinghamshire. In her role as Clinical Nursing Director Trish will take a lead in the further development of the nursing department at Alpha Hospital Sheffield. As an RMN, Trish possesses a wealth of knowledge and invaluable experience in both mainstream & forensic psychiatry, spanning over 20 years both within the National Health Service and a number of Independent Health Care Providers throughout the UK. She has held key nursing positions in a number of secure settings covering all levels of security and also a local prison providing both ‘in’ and ‘outreach’ services to a large cluster of prisons in the South of England. Trish’s main focus has been working with women in secure environments and she is keen to help further develop the services for women at Alpha Hospital Sheffield. |

Pat Martin, Clinical Team Leader - Rehabilitation Service Pat Martin is Clinical Team Leader for the Rehabilitation Service at Alpha Hospital Sheffield. Having qualified in 1990 Pat went on to develop expertise in a range of settings. Pat has worked at the Sheffield Hospital for almost four years and supported the nursing department through the change process when Alpha acquired the service in 2004. Pat has been an active member of the multidisciplinary team and was the Registered Manager for the Hospital until the appointment of Hospital Director earlier this year. Pat is very focused on the quality aspects of the service and has been key in the implementation of the National Minimum Standards for the Hospital. |

Maureen Marszalek, Training and Development Nurse Consultant Maureen has many years experience in Mental Health Care both in the NHS and in the independent sector at senior management level in acute and secure services. Maureen joined the independent sector in 1990 and was Director of Nursing and developed services at a 40 bedded unit. Over the years Maureen has been involved with commissioning new Womens Low Secure Services. Maureen has been with Alpha Hospitals since July 2005 as a nurse consultant and has worked at both Alpha Hospital Bury and Alpha Hospital Sheffield. |

Caroline Lovelock, Clinical & Forensic Psychologist Caroline is registered with the British Psychological Society as a chartered Psychologist in both Clinical and Forensic categories. Since 1993, she has specialised in working therapeutically with women in secure settings, both individually and in groups. She has a post graduate diploma in Women’s studies. She is probably best known for her active contribution to the training and development of multidisciplinary staff teams working in dedicated women’s services. She was selected to be one of a small group of accredited trainers who deliver, on a national basis, the course ‘Working with Women with Mental Health Needs in Secure Settings’ which formed part of the Department of Health’s Gender Training Initiative. |
