Make a Referral

Alpha Hospitals work with Specialised Commissioning Groups and Primary Care Trusts nationally in an open and transparent manner. Our services are created to meet local need and compliment existing provision within the NHS.

The foundation of our referral process is to work in accordance with national commissioning guidelines.  Referrals are processed only when approval from the responsible commissioning authority is sought and received.

Dedicated teams are available at all times at each of our hospitals to answer your calls and support the smooth and efficient process from the point of referral.

When making a referral please provide as much information as possible to enable our team to consider the referral comprehensively. Information provided should include any or all of the following if available.

Admission summary

• Psychiatric reports
• Discharge summaries from previous hospitals
• Copies of other assessments done by referrers
• Court reports
• Record of previous convictions (if applicable)
• Risk assessments
• Latest MHRT report
• Information on funding authority/ies
