Why Alpha Hospitals?

In September 2006 Dhana started work in the United Kingdom at Alpha Hospital Bury on on the Deaf Women’s medium secure service. Dhana  completed an adaptation course supported by Alpha Hospitals  in conjunction with Warwick University. She has also completed Level 1 in British Sign Language. Dhana’s participation in the British Sign Language course increased Dhana’s interest in her work within Deaf mental health services.  More recently, with further support from the organisation Dhana has qualified as a Nurse Prescriber after following a course of study at Manchester Metropolitan University  under the supervision of Dr Rob Turner, one of the specialist consultants.

Since joining Alpha in 2006 Dhana has worked as a Support Worker, Clinical Nurse, Team Leader and more recently has taken on a Nurse Practitioner role whilst continuing to support the only national Deaf female service.
